Part 1: Things you already know
As a professional software developer and consultant, I've enjoyed the privilege of serving numerous companies as both a developer and in management. One very common discussion I seem to have with my clients is "where to find Delphi people?" And yet in that same week I'll meet with developers who ask me "why are companies not hiring Delphi developers?"
This site began its life as a "job board" for the local Portland, Oregon Delphi Users group back in 1996. The concept and purpose was simple, make it simple and cost effective for companies of all sizes to get the word out to the people they wanted to reach: Delphi developers.
- Newspapers can charge substantial fees to place 3 small lines in the paper, realistically published and read once per week.
- Placement/Consulting Agencies offer useful services that can speed up and simplify the recruitment process, yet their fee structures often make it diffucult for a small to medium sized companies to afford them.
- Asking your employees to refer someone is often the most effective method of recruiting, yet is limited by the people they know a) who are available, and b) who they would want to work with.
- And then there is The Internet. There are hundreds of job boards, and thousands of job-related USENET newsgroups. Its too easy to be lost in the flood of information. And the "top" job boards can be very expensive, charging hundreds of dollars per post (for a limited period) or thousands+ for "unlimited" posts per year--- perfect, especially when you only want one good employee!
Part 2: What you need to know about delphiworld.com
This is a free service. Really. No gimmicks, hidden programs, or mischievous SPAM email campaigns planed. You really are getting something for nothing. The only cost is your time to enter your job listings.
This site lists ONLY jobs for Delphi Professionals. Each job is reviewed before posting to ensure this. The thousands of people who visit here know this, that this is the place to check for Delphi jobs.
We are visited daily by literally hundreds of people, tens of thousands each month!
There are what appears to be other "Delphi Only" job boards out there, yet this is the largest (and did we mention free).
This site serves a global audience. While the majority of the jobs posted come from the United States, we support and encourage people from anywhere to list their job openings.
We promote our site to the Delphi community. We let user groups, web sites, and newsgroup readers world wide know about us, bringing Delphi people here.
